HONOLULU (KHON2) — If you live in Hawaiʻi, your backyard may feel like your own little piece of paradise. But what you keep there, or bring into the state, can be controlled by state and county rules.

The big thing to remember is that there is no single rule for every backyard. Honolulu zoning rules can be different from rules on other islands, and state agriculture rules control many animals and plants.
