Suspect in Eugene homicide found in Washington

EUGENE, Ore. — A welfare check in a South River Road neighborhood ended with the discovery of a woman who authorities say was killed in a stabbing, and a suspect later arrested in Washington state.

Lane County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) said deputies and detectives responded to a residence after receiving information from an out-of-state caller about suspicious conditions. They went to the home to conduct a welfare check on 44-year-old Yuvonne Allison, who was found dead at the location.

Investigators said Allison died as a result of multiple stab wounds. LCSO said 47-year-old Tyler Earl Essex was quickly identified as the suspect, and an arrest warrant for murder was obtained with help from the Lane County District Attorney’s Office…
