Marcos de Niza High School in Tempe damaged by monsoon storm activity

Marcos de Niza High School in Tempe was damaged by Wednesday night’s monsoon storm activity, but classes will go on as scheduled Thursday, officials said.

“Due to some storm-related damage, a couple of classrooms will need to be temporarily relocated. We are making the necessary adjustments to ensure all students can continue learning in a safe and supportive environment,” the school said in a Facebook post.

A restoration company is working to clean up the debris, and the auditorium will remain closed until it can be structurally assessed, according to a Tempe Union High School District spokesperson…
