WHITELAND, Ind. — A choir booster at a high school in Johnson County has been charged with felony theft after allegedly stealing $90,000 and spending the money at Dollar Tree, Amazon, Wendy’s and more.
Latoya Mason, 39, of Greenwood, was officially charged this week in Johnson County court with one count of theft as a Level 6 felony. A warrant has since been issued for her arrest.
Mason served as the choir treasurer for Whiteland Community High School until late February, when school officials contacted police about missing money. The choir’s bank funds had been “significantly depleted,” with tens of thousands of dollars missing…
