Baldwin County couple accused of bringing drugs to court with toddler

DAPHNE, Ala. (WKRG) — Two Baldwin County people were arrested Tuesday after showing up to court with drugs and a child, according to the Daphne Police Department.

According to a DPD news release, just before 5:30 p.m. Aug. 18, while working court security, patrol officers saw a man smoking marijuana in a vehicle in the parking lot. Police identified the man as 30-year-old Cody Cordell Hicks of Bay Minette.

Officers conducted a probable cause search of the car, where they found marijuana and drug paraphernalia beside a car seat.

The owner of the vehicle, 25-year-old Autumn Rose Barker, of Spanish Fort, was inside attending court with her three-year-old child.

When officers approached Barker, they noticed a strong smell of marijuana. She admitted the methamphetamine found in her purse belonged to her and had been transported in the car near her child…
