Authorities seek help identifying man found dead in San Jose nearly 30 years ago

The Santa Clara County Office of the Medical Examiner on Thursday requested the public’s help in identifying a man who was found dead in 1997 in Coyote Creek.

According to the office, the man was found floating face down in Coyote Creek in San Jose’s Metcalf Park on June 14, 1997. He was caught on a tree branch and pronounced dead on the scene.

The medical examiner said he was between 35 and 45 years old, 5 feet, 10 inches tall and weighed 139 pounds. His race could not be determined, according to the office…
