Hurricane Ian severely damaged Lorenzo Turner’s Apopka home in 2022, and a later health setback left him using a wheelchair while continuing to live with leaking, water-damaged, and mold-affected conditions. Orange County Recovers replaced his roof, flooring and walls, renovated his kitchen and modified the home to make it wheelchair accessible before Turner returned in February 2026. The program has completed repairs on 33 homes, with another 60 moving toward construction and 218 applications in the pipeline.
