The Denver Police Department (DPD) is letting its contract with ShotSpotter technology expire at the end of 2026, potentially ending more than a decade of automated gunshot detection in the city.
The system uses sensors mounted on utility poles to listen for gunfire and alert Denver’s 9-1-1 dispatch center.
