ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A group of local high school students celebrated a very special graduation today. They just completed the University of Rochester Medicine’s “Next Generation in Surgery” program.
The six-week paid internship offered students interested in careers in surgery or medicine the opportunity to shadow surgeons and medical teams across a variety of operating rooms and labs.
“Our coordinators have been fantastic, organizing us, getting us to learn all of these clinical skills, like we got to learn how to do sutures and scrubbing, and it’s been absolutely amazing.
