WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — The Wichita Fire Department enters a new era on Friday as Chief Tammy Snow will retire after almost 40 years.
Snow joined the WFD in 1988, working her way from firefighter to the head of the department in 2017.
She announced that she was leaving back in February and said she is looking forward to the future while remembering her past work.

“It has been extremely rewarding, and I’m very honored,” she said. “It’s been very impactful for me, and I only hope that I’m leaving it a little better than I found it.”…
