LACOMB, Ore. – Firefighters responded to a natural cover fire on Baptist Church Drive on Friday morning, Aug. 21, according to the Lebanon Fire District.
Fire crews responded to a 911 call that came in at about 11:46 a.m. on Aug. 20. The property owner and neighbors had already put out the fire by the time the Battalion Chief arrived at the scene in the 41000 block. The fire burned about half an acre before it was contained. Firefighters spent about an hour mopping up hot spots to make sure the fire was completely out. The fire likely started when a spark from equipment swathing the field struck a rock.
