2 charged in Pedestrian Mall shooting will have joint trial

IOWA CITY — Two Cedar Rapids teens charged in the April Pedestrian Mall shooting in Iowa City will have a joint trial Jan. 26, 2027, in Johnson County District Court.

The judge, defense lawyers and prosecutors had an informal phone meeting late Friday to set the new trial date. A trial previously had been set for this month but both Damarian Jones, 18, and Ka’Mari Dozier, 17, needed more time to prepare for trial.
