Bay Area beach closed after boat carrying 1,000 gallons of diesel runs aground

A beach at Point Reyes National Seashore was temporarily closed Saturday after a 58-foot fishing vessel ran aground with approximately 1,000 gallons of diesel aboard, authorities said.

The vessel, named Lake Bay, went ashore early Friday near North Beach in Marin County, according to the U.S. Coast Guard.

No injuries, active fuel leaks or wildlife impacts had been reported, the agency said…
