More than 3,000 in Charlotte still without power after severe storms

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) – More than 5,000 Carolinians remained without power Saturday after severe storms swept across the region, according to Duke Energy’s outage map.

The Charlotte area was hardest hit with over 3,000 outages after Friday night’s storms left a trail of downed trees, blocked roads, and damaged homes.

While peak outages reached 10,000 Saturday morning, Duke Energy reported that number fell to just over 3,000 by the afternoon…
