Waterfront Jazz Festival moves indoors as storms hit Norfolk

NORFOLK, Va. — The annual Waterfront Jazz Festival wrapped up Saturday night with thousands of people enjoying live music inside Scope Arena as storms brought heavy rain and flooding to downtown Norfolk.

Organizers moved the festival from its usual location at Town Point Park to the indoor venue earlier in the week because of the forecast for severe weather.

For festivalgoers Cutina and Darren Ligon, who drove from Richmond, the venue change was disappointing at first, but they said they were glad the event could continue indoors. “We was hoping that it was gonna be outside, but it’s just as good being on the inside.”…
