The call came in as a report of a vehicle collision with one person trapped, according to Seattle Fire Dept., which posted about the incident and urged drivers to avoid the intersection. Dispatch logs reviewed by Seattle Fire Real-Time 911 show the department launched a 15-unit “Energy Response” to the location at 2:09 a.m., a designation typically triggered when utility infrastructure — such as power lines or light poles — is affected during a collision.
One block away, at NE 65th St and Roosevelt Way NE, a separate but related “Rescue Extrication” call went out just two minutes earlier, at 2:07 a.m. That call dispatched Heavy Rescue 1 along with Engine 21, Engine 40, and Medic 18, per the same dispatch records. Roosevelt Way NE intersects NE 65th St one block west of 12th Ave NE, putting both responses within the same immediate footprint.
