A new permanent exhibit featuring the history of local firefighters was unveiled Aug. 22 at the Glen Carbon Heritage Museum.
The Glen Carbon Fire Protection District Exhibit includes photographs, equipment and documents that detail the fire district’s development from its founding to the present day. The display includes early firefighting gear and uniforms used by volunteer firefighters.
