Today: Shower and thunderstorm chances ramp back up across Southern Colorado this afternoon and evening as monsoon moisture continues to stream into the region. Storms will likely develop first over the mountains and near the I-25 corridor before marching east across the plains late this afternoon and evening.
The main concern today will be heavy rainfall, especially over the Aspen Acres burn scar, where a Flash Flood Watch is in effect from 2 p.m. through 9 p.m. It will not take much rain to create flooding or debris flow issues in and around the burn scar.
A few storms could also briefly become strong to severe, especially east of I-25 and out across the plains. The severe threat should remain limited, but quarter-sized hail and gusty wind will be possible with the strongest storms.
