Severe thunderstorm warnings issued for central North Carolina counties: NWS

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — Multiple counties in central North Carolina are under severe thunderstorm warnings early Monday morning, the National Weather Service in Raleigh said.

A warning was issued at 5:05 a.m. for Hoke County, south central Moore County, Scotland County, and southeastern Richmond County due to severe thunderstorms moving northeast at 25 m.p.h. being located along a line extending from near Hoffman to near Laurinburg, according to the NWS.

The NWS said severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from seven miles east of Aberdeen to near Raeford to Antioch, moving northeast at 30 m.p.h. at 5:37 a.m., prompting a warning for western Cumberland County, Hoke County, southwestern Harnett County, and southeastern Hoke County…
