Evacuation warning lifted Saturday evening; highway closure impacted travel between Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties
A fast-moving vegetation fire that broke out Saturday morning near Highway 166 in San Luis Obispo County burned 268 acres and prompted temporary evacuation warnings before firefighters gained significant control of the blaze overnight.
As of 7:00 a.m. Sunday, August 23, Cal Fire reported the fire is 75% contained.
