ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — An inmate held in the Winnebago County Jail has died by suicide over the weekend.
According to the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office, officers responded to an apparent suicide attempt involving an inmate inside the county jail on Saturday, August 22. Officers attempted to save the inmate’s life, and the inmate was later transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the inmate’s death is currently being conducted. No further details have been released…
