LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — Monday night’s hometown heroes have created a new hiking trail while restoring nature.
The Lancaster Conservancy recently opened the trail at Safe Harbor Nature Preserve in Conestoga, Lancaster County.
The conservancy spent the past seven years turning a 26-acre hay field back into a meadow habitat, with wildflowers designed to attract pollinators needed to keep the field blooming each year, including the American bumblebee, regal fritillaries, columbine duskywings, frosted elfins and monarch butterflies.
