(WSYR-TV) — On September 8 students in Syracuse will be headed back to school. While it’s exciting, it can be scary too.
One way to get over those back to school jitters is to know the whole community is cheering you on. There’s a special community campaign: “Syracuse Stands for Students.” We welcomed superintendent Pam Odom, chief of family and community engagement Karen Dotson, director of engagement Akua Goodrich to Bridge Street to share more about how the community can get involved.
The district has signs but you can make your own sign or message. If you’re available, you’re asked to stand outside your home or business to encourage students as they travel to school.
