Approximately 40 beaches across Massachusetts were closed by state health officials on Friday, Aug. 21, due to high bacteria levels, dangerous cyanobacteria blooms, and water quality issues.
MassLive reported that the latest state beach water quality data reveal that closures and advisories are in effect at 37 beaches from the Berkshires to Cape Cod and the Islands.
