Legendary Marching Band Offers Showcase of Competition Show
As a graduate of Castle High School, I’m clearly biased. However, I don’t need to be when you look at the history and accolades of the Castle Bands. Unfortunately, I did not have time for the amazing performing arts department at CHS. During my time there, I played soccer. We shared a parking lot with the marching band. If we didn’t move our vehicles in time for their practice, they would work as a group to lift them and move them out of the way. We never complained about it. You know why? We respected them because they were, are, and always will be one of the best bands and band programs in the tri-state. Again, I’m clearly biased. However, you don’t have to take my word for it. You can watch the entire competition marching show this weekend at Castle Bands’ “The Event”.
Annual Community Showcase is a Castle Schools Affair
Not only does “The Event” showcase the high school talent, but the children’s color guard program will perform, as well as the middle school eighth-grade bands. The event will begin at 3 pm with various activities for the children. Carnival games, jazz ensembles, concessions, and merchandise sales will all be available at the event. Don’t forget the still-climbing half pot raffle, which currently sits over $24,000. For ticket information and all things half pot, follow along here. At 7 pm the show begins in the football stadium. Tickets for the event are $10 for adults, $7 for students, and free for those ten and under. Proceeds from the event go directly to the Castle bands program. Event and ticket information is available here.
Major Surprise to be Revealed at “The Event”
Whether you can make it to the event or not, you’ll want to stay tuned in to watch what the Castle Bands have going on this weekend. At “The Event,” they will be making a major announcement that is so cool, the entire tri-state won’t want to miss it! Here is a preview of the music featured in this year’s showcase, entitled “Cry Me a River”:
