I-70 to close in Wheat Ridge for several weekends soon: What to know

DENVER (KDVR) — Interstate 70 drivers will experience some major disruptions to their trips soon as construction crews work on bridge repairs in Wheat Ridge.

The work to repair the bridges over Kipling and Garrison streets in Wheat Ridge has been ongoing since early August, prompting some lane and ramp closures, but both sides of the interstate will shut down at Kipling Street for one weekend each in September for partial demolitions and reconstruction, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation and city of Wheat Ridge.

The westbound lanes of the interstate will be shut down over Kipling Street from 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 18, to 6 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 22…
