A developer is asking Clark County for permission to build a 404,000-square-foot hotel and casino called Silverado on 13.5 acres at the northwest tip of South Las Vegas Boulevard, putting a brand-new gaming resort directly alongside the long-established South Point Hotel, Casino & Spa. The project would rise in the Enterprise area, just half a mile north of South Point, and would include a six-story hotel and gaming complex with 450 rooms, restaurants, bars, a conference area, entertainment space, and fitness facilities.
Ochoa Development Corporation, the owner and developer behind Silverado, has proposed splitting construction into two phases, according to Vital Vegas. Phase One covers 321,000 square feet and includes an 86-foot-tall, six-story tower with 300 guest rooms, a casino, dining, and conference facilities, plus a 47-foot-high, five-story parking garage, per the same outlet. Phase Two would add another 83,200 square feet and a 73-foot tower with 150 more rooms, bringing the completed resort to its full room count.
The development is sited at the northwest corner of Las Vegas Boulevard South and Richmar Avenue, according to Vital Vegas, with an architecture team that includes Gensler and Yihong Liu + Associates, civil engineering from RCI Engineering, and representation by LAS Consulting. Developers estimate the project will generate roughly 1,000 temporary construction jobs and 750 full-time operational positions once complete, the outlet reports.
