A wind shift is pushing wildfire smoke from fires in northern Oregon into the Willamette Valley. Air quality in parts of Lane County are reaching “moderate” levels, which may be noticeable to individuals who are highly sensitive to air pollution.
Air quality is measured on the color-coded Air Quality Index (AQI) scale, which ranges from 0 to 500. Higher numbers indicate poorer conditions, with dark red signaling hazardous air. “Moderate” conditions include values up to 100.
