Teamsters settle strike at 15 CalPortland ready-mix concrete plants in Northern California

More than 350 concrete ready-mix drivers at 15 CalPortland plants in Northern California who went on strike Aug. 6 have reached an agreement to renew their one-year contract, averting further disruption to construction projects.

Drivers voted to ratify a contract providing “industry-standard” increases in wages and health benefits and locks in the language of their current contract language for 12 months, the Teamsters Union announced Aug. 21.

CalPortland, which was targeted in a 2022 Teamsters strike that reportedly disrupted concrete deliveries in the metro Seattle area for more than 5 months, has not responded to requests for comment…
