LUBBOCK, Texas — 16 days later, Navy veteran Rusty Dailey finished a long but meaningful journey around 23 states for the 2026 Hoka Hey Motorcycle Challenge on August 18, traveling over 11,000 miles for Down syndrome awareness.
There were 276 riders, including Dailey, who kicked up their leg stand and started their own personal mission on the morning of August 2 in Woodstock, Illinois.
Each rider chose a different charity to represent, and Dailey picked “Ruby’s Rainbow,” a nonprofit organization that raises money to send people with Down syndrome to school.
Only five minutes beforehand were they given directions, which were line directions that included greater than, less than, or till ‘this many miles,’ not your standard map or GPS.
