CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — The Driver License Office in east Charlotte is shutting down to move to a new site nearby.
The Division of Motor Vehicles announced the office on Executive Circle will close for good at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 26. The new location, a mile and a half west at 5525 Albemarle Road, will open at 8 a.m. Sept. 2.

Office hours will remain Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., except for state holidays.
During the transition, customers can visit any of the following four nearby DLOs:
- Charlotte North, 9711 David Taylor Drive.
- Charlotte South, 201 W. Arrowood Road., Suite H
- Charlotte West, 6016 Brookshire Blvd.
- Monroe, 3122 U.S. Hwy. 74 W.
