A 57-acre brush fire broke out Tuesday afternoon in Perris amid dangerous heat, prompting evacuations in some areas.
The blaze, dubbed the Wood Fire, erupted just before 1 p.m. near Rider Street and Dreamglo Lane in unincorporated Perris, according to Cal Fire.
