Two Measles-Related Deaths Reported in Pennsylvania

The measles outbreak in Pennsylvania has now led to the deaths of two people in the Commonwealth.

Governor Josh Shapiro and the Pennsylvania Secretary of Health held a news conference Tuesday morning in Lancaster to address the deaths and the growing measles outbreak. Officials did not release many details about the victims due to HIPAA privacy protections, but they did say the two people were from Lancaster County and were not vaccinated.

These are the first two measles-related deaths reported in Pennsylvania in 35 years.
