A Stockton City Council candidate has formally ended her campaign five days after prosecutors charged her with five felonies over claims that she used addresses where she did not live to qualify for the race.
Desiree Lynch was running for the District 5 seat when San Joaquin County prosecutors accused her of falsely registering to vote and filing candidate paperwork using Stockton addresses that did not reflect where she actually lived.
Investigators say one address Lynch identified as her residence was associated with Harry’s Cocktail Lounge. Another was an apartment at Doyle Garden Apartments. Prosecutors allege she was actually living in Lodi and North Stockton…
