BATON ROUGE — The Advocate has reported that state investigators have subpoenaed emails involving Metro Councilman Darryl Hurst and two former employees who oversaw a city-parish health initiative as part of a wider probe into alleged corruption in East Baton Rouge Parish’s government.
The subpoena of Hurst, as well as former director of Safe, Hopeful, Healthy BR, Jazzika Matthews, and mayor’s office employee Cydni Raby, was served Aug. 12, The Advocate reports. The state attorney general is seeking emails to or from the three individuals. The subpoena specifically wants communication with Roderick Shannon, a contractor already charged with lying to get paid for a government-sponsored gun-safety event.
