CHICAGO (WGN) — A family is waiting for justice nearly seven months after a Chicago city employee was shot and killed on the Far North Side. Adding to their devastation, the victim’s mom, an innocent bystander, was killed months later in a shooting on the Far South Side.
36-year-old Da’J Flowers was found unresponsive after she was shot several times inside her second-floor condo unit in the 6900 block of North Bell Avenue on the morning of Feb. 6.
The Chicago Office of Emergency Management and Communications (OEMC) said she was a senior administrative assistant with the agency. It was an official who requested a well-being check when she did not show to work, which ultimately led to the discovery of a crime scene…
