Extreme heat in North Texas is doing more than making people uncomfortable. It is also putting enough strain on power equipment to trigger scattered outages across Dallas neighborhoods, leaving some families without air conditioning during a dangerous stretch of high temperatures.
At least one school experienced disruptions serious enough to send children home early as a precaution.

According to CBS News Texas, the heat wave coincided with multiple local outages in Dallas, including at an apartment complex. In Kessler Park, more than a dozen residents reported that the power went out twice, once for about an hour and again for roughly 30 minutes.
