Pacific Fusion Breaks Ground on $1 Billion Research Campus in Albuquerque

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Construction is officially underway on Pacific Fusion’s $1 billion research and manufacturing campus in Albuquerque, a project state leaders say could further establish New Mexico as a center for advanced energy development.

Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham joined company leaders and elected officials Tuesday to mark the groundbreaking of the approximately 225,000-square-foot facility at Mesa del Sol.

The campus will serve as Pacific Fusion’s primary research and manufacturing site as the company works to develop fusion energy technology capable of producing more energy than it consumes by 2030.
