LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A man who served prison time in Nevada for voluntary manslaughter was arrested on Aug. 11 in the parking lot of High Desert Prison northwest of Las Vegas after a corrections officer was threatened with a screwdriver.
Cory Tyler Nixon, 32, is charged with assault with a deadly weapon, destruction of property ($250-$5,000), and driving with a suspended driver’s license, according to a Nevada State Police arrest report. Troopers also linked him to another incident on July 24 outside the prison.
