More people were arrested by immigration authorities in Arizona in July 2026 than any time in the previous four years, according to data visualized by the Deportation Data Project.
The starkest window into the number of immigration arrests comes from comparing the number of people arrested in July 2023 — 328 people — with July 2026, when immigration authorities arrested 2,171 people.
The data was collected and visualized by the Deportation Data Project, a group at the University of California, Berkeley and UCLA that uses litigation to obtain, analyze and visualize public records.
