A 2025 Hyundai Elantra veered off northbound Interstate 95 near mile marker 172 in Palm Bay early Tuesday morning, slammed into a tree, and burst into flames, killing all three people inside. The crash happened around 9:49 a.m. just south of State Road 514, also known as Malabar Road, according to a preliminary report from the Florida Highway Patrol.
The victims were identified as a 47-year-old man from Christmas who was driving, an 18-year-old man from Ocoee, and a 33-year-old woman from Orlando, all of whom were pronounced dead at the scene, according to Orlando-News.com. All three occupants were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the collision, the outlet reported, a detail that underscores how violent the impact and resulting fire must have been. A trooper told the outlet the crash remains under investigation.

The impact caused the Hyundai to become engulfed in flames, and the report notes investigators have not yet said why the car left its lane.

Florida law requires investigators to complete an official crash report within 10 days of concluding a fatal investigation, under Section 316.066 of the Florida Statutes as outlined by the Florida Senate.
