BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Buffalo man accused of fatally stabbing his sister in North Buffalo in May 2025 pleaded that he is not responsible by reason of mental disease or defect, and the plea was accepted by the New York State Supreme Court, the Erie County District Attorney’s Office said Wednesday.
Nicholas Allen, 26, was accused of fatally stabbing his 17-year-old sister on the 200 block of Commonwealth Avenue around 1:30 p.m. on May 4, 2025. He will be committed to the custody of the state’s Office of Mental Health for examination, and future court proceedings will determine the appropriate level of confinement and supervision, the Erie County District Attorney’s Office said.
“The Erie County District Attorney’s Office conducted a careful review of all evidence, including the facts of the case, psychiatric evaluations, and the opinion of a forensic mental health expert.
