The Miami Valley experiences the largest loss of daylight soon

DAYTON, Ohio (WKEF) — Fall is still about a month away, but daylight rapidly shrinks through the month of September.

September is, in fact, the month with the largest loss of daylight for the United States, including here in the Miami Valley. For now, you will notice people still out and about until past 8 o’clock, but give it less than a month and all that changes.

Sunset as of Wednesday, August 26th happens at 8:17 pm, but watch what happens through the next five weeks.

The days become progressively shorter, with an average of 2 minutes and 30 seconds lost each day from September 1st through 31st. The sun will also rise later with the sun setting earlier…
