(KRON) — Police in South Bay arrested a suspect Monday who allegedly targeted gardeners in armed robbery and grand theft incidents.
The first incident occurred Wednesday, Aug. 19, in Los Altos. Police said the suspect brandished a gun at a landscaper and stole landscaping equipment. Investigators identified the suspect vehicle through license plate reader cameras, which led to identifying the suspect, according to the Los Altos Police Department.
On Saturday, Aug. 22, the same suspect used a different vehicle in the commission of stealing a jackhammer from another gardener in Los Altos, police said. The second suspect vehicle was also entered into the police system.
Authorities received an alert on Monday indicating that one of the suspect vehicles returned to Los Altos. The vehicle was quickly found, police said, and the suspect was pulled over and detained…
