NEW YORK CITY (PIX11) — New Yorkers working 9 to 5 may have noticed a different subway sign during their commutes.
Signs at the Fulton Street subway station were altered to read “Dolly Parton Street” on Tuesday, shortly after the death of the beloved and monumental singer-songwriter.

The unauthorized stunt came as a tribute to Parton by two New York-based artists. However, a spokesperson for the MTA told PIX11 the materials placed on the sign have since been removed as of Wednesday afternoon.
The country music icon, actor and philanthropist died at 80 after a battle with cancer, her family and publicist announced on Tuesday.
