DENVER (KDVR) – Police are continuing to share reminders on electric vehicles, specifically e-bikes and e-motorcycles, as the debate surrounding them persists.
The Northglenn Police Department shared photos of e-motorbikes that officers found four kids riding near Washington Street and East 115th Place earlier in August. None of the bikes had license plates and officials said they appeared to be designed for off-road use.

According to the post, the children riding them recklessly entered traffic without proper signals and accelerated northbound. Two of them continued throughout the area on sidewalks, weaving around cars and ignoring stop signs.
Two of the riders were detained, as the bikes were deemed high-powered e-motos that can go nearly 50 miles per hour, which are classified as unlicensed vehicles; thus, they are prohibited from public roadways in Northglenn barring authorization.
The post also came with a reminder for parents to be wary and aware of their children, especially as it’s not legal for kids to be riding on public streets. The kids in this case, police said, were around 13 years old and they didn’t have proper safety gear…
