Despite hot temperatures and dry conditions, Broomfield is unlikely to implement mandatory water restrictions as the public’s conservation efforts are paying off.
“We’ve had a pretty big precipitation deficit throughout the year, and normally this would lead people to water their lawns and HOAs to water their turf areas much more than they would in an average year, but that really isn’t what we’ve been seeing,” Mark Lorie, the city’s deputy director of water utilities, said in the City Council’s Tuesday night meeting.
