AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) – There will be no big surprises for Augusta taxpayers when they get their 2026 bills, as commissioners wait until next year.
“It’s kind of like kicking the can down the road but it’s only kicking it down for eight weeks and then we’ll face that,” said Mayor Pro-Tem, Wayne Guilfoyle.
Commissioners approved the rollback tax rate for this year over the recommendation from the administrator’s office who wanted a tax increase, because even with the cuts in this year’s budget, there’s still a nearly $5-million-dollar shortfall…
