JERSEY CITY, N.J. (PIX11) – Folks in Jersey City voiced their concerns Wednesday following an approved vote that would increase municipal taxes into the double digits.
Only a handful of people showed up — but the ones who did made it very clear they were angry. Despite the frustration, the City Council was able to pass the measure.

The city’s municipal tax levy is going up 15.15% and residents are not pleased about the change.
“This is 15.5% now, “ Peter Carter, Jersey City homeowner, said. “Do you know more people’s gonna be homeless?”
