The Fontana City Council recently joined the city’s police department in honoring six officers as employees of the month — Regina Barajas, Angel Martinez, Cipriano Lopez, Shaun Pasani, Sgt. Casey Kirkland and Cpl. Joshua Patty. For Police Field Services Division Commander Brian Binks, the officers played a key role in responding to a string of catalytic converter thefts in June throughout the region.
“Our officers learned that there was a crew operating out of Los Angeles County that was most likely responsible for these crimes,” Binks said. “This crew would rent high-end luxury vehicles, change out license plates and they were coming into our city and others and committing these thefts.
“We’re so proud of these officers and the work they do — they keep our community safe and we appreciate them.”…
